Planned Power Outage – Northern Door County
Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 11:30 PM through Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 3:30 AM

The Village of Ephraim would like to inform residents and businesses of a planned overnight power outage affecting portions of northern Door County.

At the request of the American Transmission Company (ATC), electrical service will be temporarily interrupted while upgrades are completed to improve the reliability of the electric system serving our area.

Areas Affected
The planned outage will affect customers in the northern portion of the peninsula, including the north end of Sister Bay, areas extending to Northport, and east to North Bay. Please refer to the outage map for the specific affected areas.

Scheduled Outage

  • Date: Tuesday, October 6, 2026
  • Time: Approximately 11:30 PM to 3:30 AM Wednesday, October 7

Weather Contingency
If weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances delay the work, the outage will be rescheduled for Wednesday, October 7, approximately 11:30 PM, through Thursday, October 8, approximately 3:30 AM.

How to Prepare

Residents and businesses are encouraged to take the following precautions before the outage:

  • Make appropriate arrangements for anyone who relies on electrically powered medical equipment.
  • Turn off or unplug sensitive electronics, including computers.
  • Open or close electric garage doors as needed before the outage begins.
  • Take precautions to protect refrigerated and frozen food.
  • Plan ahead for any activities or equipment that require electricity overnight.
